Last Day on Tour

Another wasted day; really we were just killing time until the group was due back at the airport for their late afternoon flight.  After breakfast we went for a walk around Boundary Bay but there was precious little to photograph.

Vancouver City's skyscrapers in the distance.  We are both looking forward to a) visiting the city and b) being able to do our own thing again.

We then drove about 30 mins to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary where we wandered around for several hours.  There were quite a few birds here, obviously, but we weren't close enough to most things for a good photo.

This Anna's Hummingbird was on the feeder at the entrance.

I can't read what's on this cross, it's probably dedicated to someone who died of boredom whilst on a nature trip to British Colombia.

Black-capped Chickadee

Mallard m.

And f.

Red-winged Blackbird m.

I presume these are juveniles as they're not as dark.

Northern Pintail f.

American Wigeon f. or non breeding m.

I think this is a Sparrow of some kind preening itself.

Great Blue Heron

We then broke with tradition and went to a restaurant for lunch before saying our goodbyes to everyone and being dropped off at our hotel for the night.
